P.P.P.S. I'm also not sure why you want to launch Resolume from the command line - a few years ago (and maybe more) I had a script that would launch the app and create a scene file then immediately quit. This was to prevent popups while launching (Resolume used to pop up a window with the scene name in it). The point of this is that the app will quit immediately afterwards and won't hang around.
P.P.S. I think you're missing a load of effects when you say you can't hear the sound with a simple resolume scene. If you're doing a midi scene with midi clips and mapping the parameters to a controller you can muck around with the scene's dynamics and overall volume. If you have a simple scene with just a single slider there will be a basic volume control somewhere in the interface - try playing with that - it may be a more effective way of mastering your sound than trying to do it with plugins. Try it out.
When I mapped the midi sliders directly to a vlume controller (no Resolume mapping) I got no lag. Now if you compare the fx and vuo lags side by side it seems to me that vuo lags are much bigger. I understand that vuo is built on top of the vlc 2.x api so this is a fair comparison. I'll see if I can get them to load in the next version of Resolume and if not I'll probably switch to using the Resolume fx.
Also, I'm not sure that it's a good idea to manipulate the midi controller from the host application. You could end up with the host application and Resolume both trying to manipulate the same midi devices. A better idea would be to write a custom midi track that handles all the midi and sends the midi commands to vuo and the vlc2 player separately so they can each manipulate their own controllers. The problem with that is that this would be technically a vuo fx as far as the host application is concerned. It would be very cumbersome to try and sync the midi controllers between the host and vuo if you are trying to use vuo as a midi controller with the host application so to stay clean and simple it makes sense to not manage the midi controllers directly from the host application.
Hi, I've been using Resolume since version 4 and have been using the Tech-Nodrome effect under that, and I don't have any issues with it, but I just wanted to share an experience I've had with a few plugins that I run with Resolume 6.0.1.
