Goria's efforts to unite Roshar were joined by the strongest traditions of Azir and Alethkar, and also by groups from the eastern principalities of Tanchico, Shinra, and Var-Ien. The united forces used their superior numbers to keep Sadees's forces offbalance. They parlayed a truce and some concessions to secure most of Sadees's holdings.[94] However, these same lands were soon lost to Azir's advances.[95] In the subsequent War of the Second Sun, there were two distinct theaters of the war. The main theater was along the western coastline, which was occupied by Roshar's forces. Here, the principalities of Mikhael and Darbi were at odds with each other and with Sadees's eldest son, Havilas, who was trying to establish a united Roshar under his own patriarchal rule. But the force of the Highprinces and armies that had been gathered for the Sorokosian Crusade under the Patriarch Dobbin had turned much of the conflict on itself. The Patriarch fought to keep the Sorokosian's home in Alethkar from falling to Roshar. For a time, he struggled to fend off Rosharin attempts to claim Sorokos, but Sorokos fell and so did Dobbin. For the remainder of the First Sun, Roshar was led by generals like Aerrianus and Havilas, and the war is often referred to as the War of Aerrianus.[96]
The principalities on the eastern half of Roshar were relatively rosarian, and the War of the First Sun was fought as such. Sadees's forces were defeated and most of his holdings were lost. The remaining half was dominated by the Polity of Herdaz, while the northern principalities of Skyfire, Elezaar, and Indine partied and piddled in volash altars.[97] The royal family of Alethkar and their Eastern allies finally obtained unified control of Roshar through a series of trials in which they exposed corruption in the previous regime. And taking advantage of this corruption, they founded the Oligarchy. This made the Oligarchs powerful and corrupt, but also made them vulnerable.
International politics is the relationship between the members of a state organized into two classes--politics and power. Politics deals with the relationship between two or more political powers, all of which are in control of the government. Power deals with the relationship between governmental authority and its citizens. The politics-power relationship is a key one in international relationships because as states gain or lose power, they can change the balance of power at the international level. Political Power is the most important element in international politics. It involves \"Doing well\" within a country. It has to do with such things as freedom, integrity, territorial integrity, democracy, economic well-being, and freedom from fear. d2c66b5586
