The study of geological and geomorphological research of the area was in the following stages: The structure of the Upper Jurassic-Lower Cretaceous sandstone formations was investigated in the region. The target rocks are sandstone of the Rhaetian (Late Jurassic) and Cenomanian (Late Cretaceous) age. These rocks are represented by the main rocks of the Region of Jilinsk Basin. In the latter the Meso-Cenozoic signal was recorded as well. The specific structure of the PHW Geothermosite was examined. The target rocks are sandstones of the Upper Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous age. They represent most of the formations in the region.
Analysis of reserve rock and soils for earth dams construction at the D.I. Mendeleyev Institute of Geology and Mineralogy, Tomsk Polytechnic Institute (T-Politechnic), Russia, was carried out on the basis of the established geological maps. The work was conducted in accordance with complex criteria, including geological, geomorphological, hydrological and environmental factors. The zone under investigation includes the main region of Jilinsk basin, Kalmykian depression of the Irtysh River. The maximum width of the study area is 41 km.
The principal objective of the study was to conduct an analysis of the ground conditions for selecting the reservoir site, to define the site characteristics and to guarantee reliability of projection of the final project site name and field data of the Reservoir's design. d2c66b5586
