Next, to investigate the characteristics of internal crack propagation, the mineral composition and structure of the mineral particles in the cement matrix along the path of internal cracks were investigated. For this, the total internal crack path was classified into 10 levels based on the fractal dimension. In addition, colour change of mineral particles along the path of the external cracks was investigated using a polarizing microscope. Finally, the mineral particles along the path of internal crack division were classified into over 10 levels based on their three-dimensional particle arrangement.
The size distribution of mineral particles with a diameter of 20 µm after 60 days of setting are shown in Figure 4. Water-reducing materials and cement serve as fillers and are added to concrete in concrete production.
The size distribution of mineral particles prior to the creation of the sample (as a reference for the newly made sample) are shown in Figure 4. The size distribution curve of cement is consistent with the sample measured by the particle size analyzer (Fig 5). The majority of mineral particles and the cement particles have a diameter of less than 200 µm but some have a diameter of more than 200 µm (Fig 6). d2c66b5586
