Falling in love with your best friend, is a very good choice of a love story; but in this movie it seems to be a very bad choice. It has a nice story line, but what one cannot forgive is that, the characters and the situations, are very similar to those in the movies, where one and only love story is the normal story line. The very first half of the movie, is about a love story, but as it progresses the lack of originality and the poor screenplay take a toll on the viewers' expectations. A watchable movie, nevertheless, with a few redeeming points.
It is a 2005 Bollywood romantic-comedy movie, directed by Abbas Mustan and produced by Aamir Khan and Karan Johar. The film stars Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Karisma Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan in the lead roles.
The movie starts with the marriage of Khan and Kapoor. Anushka has just tied the knot with her beau of the moment, who happens to be her best friend, the most loyal companion and the most loving best friend ever. He knows her well. Together, they are a perfect couple and their relationship is beyond repair. He is very much in love with her and she is very much in love with him. So he wants to live happily ever after with her in the same house in which he is living. The problem is, the movie, as they say, is a love story, and they can not live together happily together. So Anushka, a practical person, decides to give up on her dream of a happy home-together and moves out. But two weeks later, out of nowhere, Khan and Kapoor, in the company of their friends, meet Anushka while out shopping. The friends have no idea who the two are, but they all instantly like the couple and decide to make a bet with them: if Khan and Kapoor will fall in love within 30 days, they will win the bet and the girl will be theirs, but if they fail, they will return Anushka to her house. The best thing that can happen to the two is that Anushka is having a romantic lunch with her friends, when she suddenly trips over the newscast showing that she had been kidnapped by the real hero and his team.
